Okay so I haven't actually had the chance to watch the anime series that this is based on, but word is that it's pretty good. Based on the title alone one would expect these Titans, or giant people, or creatures, to be quite menacing. And sure, some of them are. But others simply look like couch potatoes who's bathrobes have fallen off as they're lumbering towards the fridge.

The fact that this trailer is entirely in Japanese doesn't help either. But, you do get the sense that this game will feature a hefty dose of cinematic flourishes through character interaction and action set pieces. Plus, some sort of mechanic based around slicing the giant limbs off of giant people.

For those that have seen the series, without spoiling anything, could you explain why these Titans are giant, angry, and seemingly unable to dress themselves?

After watching Season 1, I can't answer your question. Not much is explained about the Titans.

And I won't be watching any more than season 1 because it is an extremely whingy series. The majority of dialogue is screamed instead of spoken, even if the characters are doing something as mellow as standing about gossiping or having a drink.
Pretty stupid show.

I know right? This show gets too much love.

The Titans are pretty creepy and the worldbuilding is interesting, but it feels like half of every episode is characters having fits of ennui, flashbacks, self loathing and what-have-you. The first season could be compressed to four or five sweet episodes.

My friend says most Anime protagonists are "F***boys" who whinge too much and I generally agree. But thats what the Japanese weaboos want I guess. I like AoT though, cool world they have created, its something different.

Yeah the main protagonist is super f*****g whiney and like all typical anime protags has no penis. This anime was a difficult watch because of that but has an awesome world and some great side characters, Potato Girl is pretty infamous.

Like the main protagonist, the Titans don't have genitals (I think). Where they come from is a mystery and they are pretty much immortal, they only eat humans leaving all manner of wildlife to flourish outside of the walled human city.
