And, yeah, it looks good. We weren't expecting to be excited for another Need For Speed game anytime soon, but here we are. With Need For Speed offering up a pretty cool premise. Sanctioned street races during the day to earn cash, and illegal street races at night to earn rep and parts. Plus, avoiding the fuzz. Cops.

This is all handled by the simple "Heat" mechanic where the more you race the more cops will be on the lookout for your ride. Garages and hideouts will be used as safe-houses and it looks like you'll need to lose the cops before being able to enter them safely ala GTA.

One of the new cool features comes with the multiplayer crew mechanics where in your garage you'll be able to see everyone's ride and their progress. Of course there's plenty of car and avatar customisation too. Because now, you've got to choose the right Adidas sneakers to match that sweet new spoiler. On that front a new Need for Speed Heat Studio app is launching that will allow you to customise and then seamlessly apply new looks in-game. For more on that, head here.

Need for Speed: Heat comes out November 8.
