Described as "the ultimate street racer versus cop fantasy", EA has dropped a trailer for the latest Need For Speed game due later this year. Arriving November 8 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, Need For Speed Heat looks to bring back several elements that have defined the racer over several years. Street racing, cop chases, a narrative thread, car mods, and more.

Check it out.

Need For Speed Heat takes place in the fictional location of Palm City, an open-world where racers are looking to make their mark. During the day players will take part in sanctioned competition and races to earn Bank - used to build your garage of rides. But once the sun sets and night approaches, players will take part in underground races to earn Rep whilst avoiding the fuzz. Cops.

Development is once again being handled by Ghost Games, the EA studio behing the most recent Need For Speed games - including the disappointing Need For Speed Payback.

“We’re delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known,” said Riley Cooper, Creative Director at Ghost Games. “Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customisation, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect. From your character’s style to your car’s performance and your driving style, we’re fuelling everyone’s creativity with this new game.”

No doubt we're hoping Heat is a return to form for the series, and judging by the trailer it's street cred looks to be on point.
