The latest franchise by the creators of Tekken and SoulCalibur is a free-to-play fighting game called Rise of Incarnates that is slated to release later this year for PC, Bandai Namco Games America announced today.

Taking place in a world ravaged by devastating cold snaps brought on by falling meteorites, Rise of Incarnates features two-versus-two gameplay, a slew of different 3D arenas set in cityscapes that allow players to run, jump and fly, and numerous fighters that offer unique skills and powers. According to Bandai Namco, the variety of characters and their respective skills and roles will accommodate a variety of playstyles in both close-quarters and long-range combat.

"As a new franchise, Rise of Incarnates represents the next big step in expanding Bandai Namco's footprint in the free-to-play gaming space," director of digital games at Bandai Namco Games America Joon Hwang said in a prepared statement. "Having been built from the ground up, Rise of Incarnates contains the necessary attributes that create a rich and dynamic gaming environment that fans are sure to enjoy."

The official site is available for browsing now, and includes all kinds of debut art, gameplay details and a synopsis. You can check out the announcement trailer below for an idea on what to expect.
