Filmed in South Australia, Warner Bros. Picture is set to release the new Mortal Kombat movie globally -- beginning April 15. Today comes the first full-trailer for the film, and it's suitably a restricted mature-age only affair. That is chock full of Mortal Kombat. From impressive visual effects, martial arts, and characters that all look on point -- this looks, yeah, damn good.

The videogame to film adaptations isn't exactly a thing with many shining examples so it's great to see this looking and feeling like something true to Mortal Kombat. Check it out.

In terms of the production the film is directed by Aussie, Simon McQuoid, making his feature debut. Casting wise this local flavour extends to the very cool Kano line towards the end of the trailer. Where it excels though is with the glimpses of action we get to see. And in staying in spirit with recent entries like Mortal Kombat 11 it's stylish, violent, and inventive stuff.
