The game is still refused classification in Australia and Warner can't legally market the product to us but that doesn't stop the rest of the Internet. A new trailer for upcoming DLC for Mortal Kombat has found its way online and introduces the first new downloadable character, Skarlet.
As was revealed in a
recent interview, Skarlet's inclusion is something of a fan service -- a reference to an old glitch in the original arcade version of Mortal Kombat that caused the Jade/Katana/Milena character to pallete shift to a red costume.
With the latest Mortal Kombat offering no longer resorting to cheap palette shifting, Skarlet has now become a wholly-realised, unique character -- a scantily-clad femme-fatale who appears to like blood... a lot of blood.
Australians looking to get a hold of this upcoming DLC will likely have to resort to registering (and funding) international Xbox Live or PlayStation Network accounts to gain access, but if you're one of the many people that have gone to the effort of importing the game in the first place (as described in
this article by our friends over at GamePron) that's probably not going to present much of a challenge.

In terms of importing, I learnt that customs screen certain suppliers from certain countries. I managed to get a couple in with the 1 order no problemo. So if you dig wuts cookin holla at ya boy.

But yeah, people have got them from Amazon, Cdwow, hmv, game.co.uk, mighty ape, ozgameshop, play asia, all without problems. I don't personally know anyone who had their copy confiscated, so its pretty easy to get. And definitely worth it! As rev said, f*****g awesome game.

I haven't played a lot of games online cos its a bit laggy, even against people in Australia, and it f**** with my timing, can't pull off my fully sick combos. But theres a patch landing pretty soon, possibly next week, that is going to make some (hopefully positive) changes to the netcode.

Was there any mention of the Xbox version getting something like the PS3 one? The stage fatalities are awesome in the Kratos level, be nice if there was something of equal content amount.
Speaking of stage fatalities, i'd be happy the spend extra $$$ on more of them, there's so much potential for the bell tower & highrise levels. and more characters fatalities aswell, bring back Quan Chi's leg fatality!! :)

I haven't even done his other fatality, cos that one is too cool. But yeah, belltower is definitely a contender for a stage fatality, I'm pretty sure it had one in MK3 even.

!!, & here I was thinking I did them all after finishing the Krypt, clearly i missed some! :)
Still, I want more fatalities as DLC, as the classic characters in the Klassic DLC get an extra oldskool fatality, seems only fair the newer characters get the same treatment :)

Sheesh, that's full on.

Oh & note, the pain translation that the opponent says is "what is happening you piece of s***!" :)
