With pretty jaw-dropping visuals to boot. We haven't seen a Fighter look this good, with character models, background detail and animation all looking spectacular. Then there's the gameplay itself, which in keeping with recent entries presents the most over-the-top, creative, and well, violent imagery you're likely to see in a videogame this year. Or the next for that matter.

Here's the debut gameplay trailer.

And here's the extremely gory Fatalities trailer. Which one could consider spoiler territory.

As with all games in the series, a lot of the appeal comes down to the character roster with Mortal Kombat 11 seeing the return of Mortal Kombat 2's Baraka. Alongside returning favourites like Sub Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, and Sonya. Who is set to be voiced by Turtle's love interest from The Entourage Movie, Ronda Rousey. Mortal Kombat 11 is also set to revamp the combat with separate offensive and defensive move meters - which you can check out in the full reveal here.

A closed beta is expected towards the end of March with the full release due on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 23.
