Activision have just sent word that the first two content season drops for all Call of Duty Elite Premium Members has arrived on the PlayStation Network. These content drops include two new maps, Liberation and Piazza, for players to conquer and fight over.
Call of Duty Elite Drop 1: Liberation, a militarized Central Park in the heart of NYC, features a vast landscape ripe for long-range sniper and LMG kills. Mounted turrets on opposing ends of the map offer overwhelming firepower to anyone brave enough to man them.
Elite Drop 2: Piazza, set in an idyllic Italian seaside village getaway gone rogue, offers blind corners and a complex network of branching pathways that pose danger at every turn. Visceral close-quarters combat dominates in Piazza, and attacks from above and below are an ever-constant threat.
Liberation and Piazza are the first two content drops in the nine-month plan where players will see more then 20 new pieces of DLC. Currently each new content drop is exclusive to Xbox 360 for a short while, then becoming available to PlayStation 3 owners.
The next content drop for PS3 will be on March 29th, which is titled "Overwatch". Players will battle for their lives on a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper, so if you're afraid of heights, best not to look down.
Currently there has been no news on whether PC players will be getting any of these content drops, or even when Call of Duty Elite will be available. Leave us a comment below if your still playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and your thoughts on this new way of bringing DLC.
