Barring the controversy surrounding the implementation of loot-boxes in a single-player game, the sequel to the excellent and surprisingly awesome Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is out today. The action-RPG set in the Tolkien universe by the way of the cinematic trilogy ups the ante with Fortress invasions and an expanded Nemesis system.
Launch trailer below!
There's no denying that this looks good. Awesome even. But again, we're interested to see just how pervasive the loot-box system is. Our review copies were delayed on this one, but we'll be covering this in case you're still in the "wait and see" camp. Reviews so far have been mostly positive.
the lootbox s*** takes up a single slot in the menu when you press esc and the gear you can get is no better than what you can get in the game. it's incredibly easy to ignore and play without. overhyped imo.
People always look for a reason to be outraged at games, if it wasn't the loot boxes it would be some graphical nitpick. I'll be picking this up when I'm done with Total Warhammer 2.
