While it's not a system-wide attack like the one Sony and PSN users just faced, Microsoft has issued a warning to users to be extra vigilant against a number of reported "phishing" attempts to gain user account information, including credit card info.

According to the gaming giant, many of these attempts are title-specific with the most reports coming in related to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (that game just can't cut a break). Microsoft have said they're more than aware of the issue at-hand though, and are working on a fix. In the meantime, just try and be savvy about giving away any personal information, no matter how secure you might think you are.
