Although the Xbox One successor isn't expected until the latter half of 2020, sources close to the Xbox team have apparently confirmed that two of its next-gen consoles - code-named Lockhart and Anaconda - will be at E3 this year. Two consoles? Yeah, apparently one being a mainstream device and the other a supped up Xbox One X style beast.

Rumours of the big E3 reveal popped up over the weekend at a few trusted sources, including Thurott and French outlet JeuxVideo. According to the rumours the devices will feature solid-state drives with the more powerful Xbox One X version targeting 4K 60fps performance - with the previously teased Halo Infinite being the flagship launch title. Interestingly rumours also point to the lower-spec machine foregoing a disc-drive for download and stream-only gaming.

With Sony not being at E3 this year in any official capacity, the stage is set for Microsoft to talk about the future of Xbox. And with the company's Game Pass service, upcoming cloud gaming rollout, and focus on backwards compatibility - it's sure going to be interesting. To say the least. Especially if the launch sees an Xbox One S and Xbox One X hardware combo, day one.
