With
WB Games and its line-up of developers responsible for the
Batman: Arkham series,
Mortal Kombat, all those
LEGO games,
Shadow of Mordor, and more, possibly 'for sale'. Today's news arrives after it was made known that last month Warner Bros parent company AT&T was looking to sell its gaming division to pay off some debt.
WB Games is a profitable division, and highly valued, with reports indicating that AT&T was seeking anywhere up to $4 billion in a potential deal. When news of the potential sale first broke, we got word that Activision, Take-Two, and EA, were interested in making a bid.
Throwing Microsoft into the mix certainly adds a new layer. With Xbox Game Studios already stacked with talented studios, this deal alone would add Rocksteady, Netherrealm, Monolith, and more to the line-up. Including the high-profile Batman, Suicide Squad, and Harry Potter games still in development.
Of course, if WB Games is to be sold (and reports are indicating that this is still TBC) then the properties of Warner Bros. won't be included as part of the deal outside of maybe Mortal Kombat. And on that note whatever deal is struck a licensing agreement would probably become a part of the package ala something like EA's Star Wars license for things like DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter.

They'd do such a great job on a Hulk game...
