It seems everyone wants a go on the new flight simulator from Microsoft, with word that the Microsoft Flight is now available on Steam. A free-to-play model, the simulator offers players the chance to jump into a cockpit and fly around until their hearts content, or until they get air sick.
In “Microsoft Flight,” players view the world from above in a visually stunning and realistic representation of the earth, complete with region-specific weather patterns, foliage, terrain and landmarks. Players can choose to take the helm using highly rendered, accurate cockpits and authentic piloting procedures, or simply use their mouse and keyboard to control the plane in an exterior view. More experienced players can tailor the flight controls to match their skill level, making “Microsoft Flight” easy for beginners while still challenging for the most accomplished PC pilots.
So if you're eager to fly into the clouds, you can check out the Steam page where you can start downloading as well as their official forums for any advice or help.
Check out the launch trailer below which shows off some of the aircraft that you'll be able to fly, and you can also check out our game page for more news and info.
It's you're damnit!! (Here's a handy tip, if you can replace your/you're with "you are" and it still makes sense then it should be spelled you're, otherwise it should be your.)
Unfortunately this still hasn't fixed the overpriced DLC
(although there is a bundle which makes it 'marginally' cheaper)
Isn't the DLC just a few more Hawaiian islands? I miss MS Flight Simulator with the whole freaking world :(

Unless you're talking about a plane and then yaw comes into it :)
I wouldn't mind something that teaches you how to fly a real helicopter. I've got one that teaches you RC ones but I've always wanted to learn how to fly a chopper (so I can yell RUUUUN GET TO THE CHOPPA). Unfortunately the whole rudder & pedals and that weird handbrake looking stick thing would probably cost about as much as real chopper lessons :(
Whoop you should go for a trial introductory flight at Redcliffe or Archerfield in a real chopper. Not too expensive and you'd learn quite a bit in 45 minutes that would be way more fun then doing it in a sim.
FSX let you fly in helicopters and learn the basics though. I'm pretty disappointed with Flight. As Kos said, FSX and FS2004 seemed to have the whole world covered, and with the scenery packs like OrbX and other lighting addons you could make it look spectacular. This is extremely cut down, but I guess thats what happens when you lay off the entire MS FS dev team during the deepest part of the GFC :(

Speaking of the whole freaking world, have you guys seen Google Earth Flight Simulator? Works surprisingly well.
