With Microsoft still in the process of finalising its massive acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it recently came to light that Sony has officially expressed its concerns over the deal. Specifically citing the Call of Duty franchise as something that would be impossible to compete with if it were to become exclusive to Xbox platforms. Today, it's Microsoft's turn as it claims Sony has been actively blocking titles from Xbox Game Pass.

Which in the light of Sony's recent Game Pass-like expansion of its PlayStation Plus service to offer up hundreds of games for players to download and play - definitely sounds a little shady. The accusations were apparently made in a document sent to Brazilian regulators assessing the acquisition.

"Microsoft's ability to continue expanding Game Pass has been obstructed by Sony's desire to inhibit such growth," the statement reads. "Sony pays for 'blocking rights' to prevent developers from adding content to Game Pass and other competing subscription services."

Claiming that Sony's "dominance in the digital distribution market for console games" led to it actively looking to undermine Xbox Game Pass as a service.
