Microsoft has today revealed that regardless of where you are in the country, the Foxtel App for Xbox 360 is now available.
From today, Foxtel on Xbox 360 is available across the country, no matter the location. This means Xbox 360 homes in either metropolitan or regional Australia, connected to the internet and Xbox LIVE, are able to receive the Foxtel on Xbox 360 service.
Foxtel on Xbox 360 lets subscribers view over 30 world-leading Foxtel channels on its live streaming television service, such as FOX8, LifeStyle YOU, FOOTY PLAY, showcase, MTV, Nickelodeon and ESPN, six BigPond TV channels, as well as Catch Up TV, and hundreds of blockbuster films, library movies and TV episodes from the Foxtel on Xbox 360 On Demand service.

Except, a kid can't be off in his room playing his xbox while you watch the foxtel. Works great if your household revolves around only you.

It's not the full channel set of the normal Foxtel, for some reason. Back when I was considering getting it there was only like 4 channels so they are improving but I don't think it's very good cost comparison wise at the moment considering just how few channels you get.
Pretty sure Telstra are banking on foxtel to be their big draw card when the NBN goes through so I expect more channels will continue to be added until there is no difference.
