Deep Silver has today announced that the post-apocalyptic sequel to Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, is now available on Steam for PC. Developed by 4A Games, Metro: Last Light will place players back into the tunnels of a destroyed Moscow, where you'll take up the role of Artyom once again.
It Is the Year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever.
As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…
Nvidia has also released new beta drivers for their graphics card range, offering a performance boost for Metro: Last Light. You can grab the Windows Vista/7/8 32-bit version here or the Windows Vista/7/8 64-bit version here. Those looking for the release on consoles and physical copies will have to wait until May 16 but for now you can check out the launch trailer below to keep your sanity in check with the waiting.
