After being on consoles for its entirety, it seems Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid series is finally coming to PC with the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes on Steam, according to the man himself at Gamescom 2014.

Originally leaked a bit early through Konami Europe's website, Kojima revealed the news during a Metal Gear Solid-themed livestream earlier this morning. The news was revealed in the only way Kojima felt it could: a box labelled 'Steam' that protagonist Solid Snake was conveniently hiding under. You can check out the box action over at NeoGAF where users have captured the specific livestream moment.

According to Kojima, Ground Zeroes will be released first, with the open-world Phantom Pain following "soon" after. You can find Steam pages for both Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes for all the juicy game info.

Hopefully they port the other games to PC as well. I'd play the f*** out of them, I assume. Because I played the f*** out of MGS1 and haven't owned a console since so...

Not quite true, MGS1 was available for PC, I'm not sure about VR missions though. Also MGS2 also came out for PC. I remember eyeing it off because it was on I think 4 DVDs and that was huge back in the day.
