A new open-world survival sandbox set on the red planet. Shades of Ark and Conan Exiles sure, but Memories of Mars still excites us purely because it looks to be taking the popular survival genre in the realm of pure sci-fi. Even if there are what look like spiders or spider-bots running around.
Great music choice for the trailer too.
In a not-so-distant future, players will assume the role of a recently awoken human clone in the abandoned mining operations of The Red Planet, where the dream of colonizing and exploiting Mars has proven impossible and the planet has since been evacuated.
Memories of Mars comes from Limbic Entertainment, a studio that has until recently worked closely with Ubisoft on a number Heroes of Might & Magic titles as wells as on titles like Tropico 6.
“Memories of Mars will take players on an epic adventure of survival and exploration as they fight to overcome the mysterious dangers of the Red Planet in infinite ways,” said Stephan Winter, CEO of Limbic Entertainment. “We have created an immersive open world environment with seemingly endless possibilities in player progress and exploration all set against the strange and curious backdrop of the distant planet Mars.”
505 Games will be publishing this one, with the game expected to hit Early Access on Steam sometime in March-May of this year.
