Another new promotional trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts was released over the weekend, and like the live action scene Guy Ritchie directed for last year's Black Ops II, this one also draws from the Hollywood talent pool.
Titled "Epic Night Out", the new Ghosts commercial was directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine) and stars four buddies on a The Hangover style romp through the warzones that includes an encounter with A-lister Megan Fox. Fox's presence is presumably a nod to the developer's introduction of female soldiers as an option in this year's game, a progressive decision despite the trailer's shameless male gaze.
There's also a dog, because Call of Duty has a dog now.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is due on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 come November 5th, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launching November 22nd and 29th respectively. A Wii U version will be available on November 30th.
Amazing production, but it's irritating that they don't show a single instance of, say, anyone actually getting SHOT by one of those bullets flying everywhere. WAR: It's all fun and games and Bud Light.
I got black ops 2 because it was cheap and my brother reckoned it was good. Is it just me or with every new version of CoD the maps get smaller and more cluttered? I guess they're pandering to the console newbs who can't handle more than 12 players on their tiny CPU's but come on, we can't play cross platform so why give PC users the same s***** small maps good for only 5 or 6 people max?
I really want to get BF4 but after seeing people having issues with it and remembering all the issues I had with bad company 2, I spent more time troubleshooting than playing and I don't want to head down that road ever again.
Who else was left thinking about how firing a conventional gun in space would work?I guess it would just go on and on for ever, unless it hit something/was pulled/pushed by something.
do bullets need air? I mean like they go bang in the shell and push out but does the air around in the chamber then contribute to the explosion?
You'd need air for the combustion of the gunpowder to occur wouldn't you? I am assuming if there is an space shooting segment in the game they'll explain that the weapons have special ammo with its own oxidizer though.
Guess I just don't keep up with the celeb news and pictures, last time I saw her was the Transformer movies.
I've never been a massive fan of the more modern Call of Duty series. I own MW2/MW3 and Blops 1, but I only ever played Blops 1 the most, and that was with a clan. There are one or two features from Ghost that seem interesting, but everything else just feels outclassed by Battlefield now.
One of the biggest things is the sound. Every gun in CoD sounds like a cap gun, but in BF it actually gives a visceral sound like you would think of a real gun. That alone makes it really hard to take CoD seriously now, if they can't even get guns sounding "right". But hey, who am I to judge? If you like CoD, go out and enjoy the game. I may even pick it up on the cheap (if that ever happens) for the SP.
I was considering getting this to kill some time because I hadn't played a cod since cod6. But battlefield has all the s***e I need. Assuming the crashing fixes in the next week... Play the waiting game.
While it makes a cool TV spot to sell a game that is already a house hold name (and thus doesn't need actual game play to sell the game). It's still a s*** commercial full of lies.
Id list all the lies but really its everything short of the one semi truth.. a creepy guy would hit on a girl in game.. and even then the scenario that played out for that was total bulls***, if the guy was black he would talk like a d*** head, if the girl was hot well she wouldn't be that hot, and even if she were semi attractive she too would be talking like a d*** head.
I've only ever played one online game with a hot chick and it was uno on xbox live and when I joined the game the rest of the participants had already talked the girl into removing her top and it ended shortly after that when I guy pulled his tiny c*** out.
Megan fox aside, it is a pretty accurate correlation for the fun of online multiplayer games, particularly the call of duty franchise. It's escapism; a bunch of bros getting together, hanging out, blowing s*** up and doing some cool s*** they normally wouldn't do IRL.
This will work for a lot of people. It's a familiar franchise, if you've played it you'll get the vibe and won't want to miss out hanging with the bros. If you haven't experienced it, high production values + megan fox means it will cut through the garbage, doesn't look like some generic game trailer and might catch your eye and then followed by a COD sting, get you thinking about the game next time you're walking through EB Games.
If you read anything else into it you are looking at it too deep. It's there to entertain you, nothing more.

So the way that guns work is the percussive cap ignites the powder, which has its own oxidizer. The expanding gasses let off by the gunpowder igniting are what propels the bullet. Air doesn't really play any part in it, except for slowing the bullet down.
Firing a bullet off into space would theoretically cause it to go straight on forever, but realistically, it'd be affected by gravity and probably get sucked back to earth if you were in orbit like the video showed.
I thought CoD game servers were predominantly populated by angry pre-pubescents, nasally voiced and angry pubescents, and very angry manchilds? I'm not having a go, I don't play any games in the franchise and so can't judge, but I swear that's all you see/hear in most of the videos on youtube.
me neither, I just don't get what you're saying happened to her =]
He's probably talking about all the plastic surgery that turned her from a fresh-faced, good looking hollywood newbie, into a botox'd-up two-dollar vegas stripper. I never really got the appeal of her, but I'll admit she was pretty attractive before going all Frankenstein's bride.
botox is a catch all phrase for plastic surgery/massive amounts of make up/botox/other s*** i dont know about that s***** celebs are doing these days to look fake

Not interested in this COD though. I'm waiting for the one after. When it'll actually be legit next gen. Black ops 1 was where I stopped.
