In two volumes from Capcom that will include all eight Mega Man X titles from the 16-bt and 32-bit eras, alongside visual upgrades and special features like trailers and commercials that aired during each game's original release. For Mega Man fans this is definitely one to pencil in your calendars as the Mega Man X series is, well, awesome.
Set in the year 21XX, Mega Man X builds on the groundwork of the original Mega Man games while taking a slightly darker and more serious approach to storytelling in a future world filled with Reploids, human-like androids with independent thought and free will, and Mavericks, Reploids that have turned against society to cause harm and destruction. While retaining the unique abilities of his predecessor to claim the weapons of his defeated opponents, X has a number of new capabilities, including the ability to slide down or jump off of walls, and equip powerful new armor pieces to augment his abilities.
The super-sized dose of X-action will come in two separate releases. Mega Man X Legacy Collection, featuring Mega Man X, X2, X3, and X4, and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2, featuring X5, X6, X7, and X8. With the last two titles in the series including 3D models for all characters.
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 are coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 24.
