With two days left on the crowdfunding clock for Mighty No. 9, Comcept has revealed that Mega Man 2 composer Takashi Tateishi has joined the audio team for for the ambitious Mega Man spiritual successor project.

Tateishi-san will join Mega Man 1 composer Manami Matsumae, and Capcom audio direction veteran Ippo Yamada -- reportedly all good friends "super excited to be working together again" -- to contribute to the new game's soundtrack.
Tateishi-san’s tunes are the type you can’t get out of your head, the kind you find yourself humming in the shower, or covering in your band -- it’s no accident they’ve become some of the best-known songs in all of gaming! He's now the CEO of his own company and (understandably) a very busy man, but he spent the last few weeks reworking his upcoming schedule to make time for us and this project, so we are incredibly lucky to have him contributing to Mighty No. 9!
For those not familiar with the name Takashi Tateishi, or his NES-era alias Ogeretsu Kun, the tune below might just jog your memory.

The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter project has now raised over US$2.9M, passing it's initial $900K goal on its first day. Stretch goals have been outlined up to $3.5M, with a support character, and PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, and Nintendo 3DS versions all still potentially on the agenda.
