As we edge closer to the game's May 18th launch, Rockstar have trickled out another batch of screenshots from the technically-superior PC version of the game. However, this time we have a little more substance -- the desktop system requirements.

In addition to the usual higher resolutions and potential framerates, PC gamers can look forward to DirectX 11 support that includes "tessellation, as well as a number of additional advanced graphics options".

A blog post on the official Rockstar Games site details the rig you'll need to run the game at both minimum and recommended spec. Here's the skinny:
OS: Windows 7 32/64 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 32 / 64 Service Pack 2, Windows XP 32/64 Service Pack 3
CPU:Intel Dual Core 2.4 GHZ - i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ / AMD Dual Core 2.6 GHZ - FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ
RAM:2GB - 16GB
GPU:NVIDIA® 8600 GT 512MB VRAM – NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680 2GB VRAM / Radeon HD 3400 512MB VRAM - Radeon HD 7970 3GB VRAM
Sound:100% Direct X 9.0 compatible – Direct X 9.0 compatible supporting Dolby Digital Live
HDD Space:35 GB

35gb. Holy s***. Thats the highest ive ever seen.

Looks like my aging PC will still be able to handle this, sweet.

Doubt that is the install size. More likely just the recommended amount of free space you need to reliably install and run the game. Which would include temp space for extracting the installer archives and free space for virtual memory when running the game etc.

Be able to run this easily but will I play it. That is the question. These days I tend to play the game for about an hour and then I get bored. Mainly with single player stuff.

With the recommended, it seems they've just decided, "what's a really good computer." Instead of doing an accurate hardware description.

Lets face it, no PC screen shot makes this game look like a heavy hitter in the graphics department.

As for PC having extra features. I bet they'll basically make no difference but are there and be unnoticeable.Looking at the screenshots, Higher Resolution textures, seems it'll be randomly applied. Max's shirt has higher resolution textures, but that brick wall looks horrible ect.

Seems to be screaming at me that it is going to be another terrible port but I can wait for others to buy it and report back.

PC features will probably be mouse support, changeable graphics settings and keyboard rebinding.

I had a convo a few months back with a guy from Rockstar who I asked about the PC version and they're definitely treating it with respect. Although it's hard to ignore the fact it was built to best support the consoles, I personally don't believe it'll be a straight up port like the shambles of a few games we've seen.

I would be interested to see how optimised it is for PC.
