We're a few weeks away from the next game in the Mass Effect franchise, a fact that we're still coming to terms with. Only because the original trilogy was one of the defining series' of the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation of consoles. Which is why you may want to skip the latest video from IGN that pretty much gives away the entire introduction to the game. Or not. Either way the safer bet is on the latest gameplay trailer that focuses on exploration. Which, after looks at combat and skills, is probably the stuff that we all really wanted to see.
Because after all, the premise of leaving the Milky Way and heading to a new galaxy to explore, that's the stuff we want to see. And yeah, Mass Effect Andromeda looks to feature a bunch of it. Including things like being able to take exploration and discovery and use that to colonise and even upgrade a massive space-station.
On the multiplayer front, with the planned beta being axed in favour of, well, releasing the game, we've since come to learn that the multiplayer component of Mass Effect Andromeda will be all about that P2P. As in, utilise peer-to-peer connections for its co-op stuff. Normally, that would be a sign to dust off the ol' pitch forks for a fresh digital protest, but then again multiplayer stuff in a Mass Effect game will probably always come a distant second to the core single-player experience.
Speaking of which, if you're up for some serious spoilers, here's the first 13 minutes of the game.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is out March 23 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
