It's been over a decade since the last Marvel Ultimate Alliance game hit the scene, a series which blended skill-based combat with a huge cast of playable characters. Wrapped up in the form of an isometric action-RPG that could be played alone or in co-op. And yeah, Marvel has since become a massive thing so the return of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is one we're keen to check out.

And with the release date now set for July 19, the cast made-up of characters from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men shared universes will soon be hitting Nintendo Switch screens.

Here's the latest trailer which debuted earlier in the year.

With the zoomed-in viewpoint looking to be the new Heroic Camera mode as listed below. Thankfully the traditionally zoomed out viewpoint is still available.
Marvel Dream Teams – Assemble your dream team of Super Heroes from the Marvel Universe, each with their unique superpowers.

New Heroes – The Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Falcon, Scarlet Witch and more join the “Ultimate Alliance” for the first time.

Original Story – Super Heroes and Super Villains battle Thanos and The Black Order across the Marvel Universe in this new original story.

Local and Online Multiplayer – The game can be played offline or online* with up to 4 players** on a single screen or using multiple systems.

Heroic Camera – In addition to the series’ traditional perspective, players can also select a dynamic, zoomed-in view, allowing for a more immersive play style for single-player or multiplayer when using multiple systems.

With Team Ninja, creators of Ninja Gaiden, at the helm it'll be interesting to see how the RPG side of the game pans out. As it's probably a safe bet to say that the action part will be fine.
