Mario Kart 8 owners will be able to enjoy three free luxury motoring machines spanning Mercedes-Benz history with the Mercedes GLA DLC coming to the Wii U this Winter.

The collection introduces three free new cars to Mario Kart 8’s line-up, the 1957 300 SL Roadster sports car, the 1934 W 25 Silver Arrow formula racing car and Mercedes-Benz’ new compact SUV, the GLA.

The latest Japanese-language trailer for the Mercedes content reveals that the DLC will hit the region August 27th, with Nintendo Europe also noting the same date for our Australian release. The DLC is part of a crossover campaign with Nintendo and the Mercedes GLA team to promote the new SUV.

According to Nintendo's official Twitter account, translated by user Cheesemeister, the DLC coincides with an update. The update adds map display on the TV and a records screen with total number of coins and an online win-loss record. It also introduces the ability to save the last used kart customization, edit other players' highlights and improves online stability.
