Edit: Nintendo has sent over official word on the DLC packs, noting that prices for both packs will be U$10.00/NZ$14.00 each, or AU$16.00/NZ$20.00 for the two. Considering the amount offered in this DLC, I'd say that is one killer pack.

Following the Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U leak, it seems Nintendo might have accidentally leaked the upcoming DLC planned for their arcade racer Mario Kart 8, pointing towards 16 new tracks and six new characters coming to the Wii U title.

With two upcoming downloadable content packs, Mario Kart 8 players will be able to add The Legend of Zelda's Link and the villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing, according to a post from Nintendo's official UK store. Also included in the DLC packs is 16 brand-new tracks, a whopping 50% increase to the current track count.

The first pack of the two adds Link, cat-suit Peach and tanooki-suit Mario, as well as four vehicles and eight tracks. It will be available in November of this year. Pack 2, available in May 2015, adds Animal Crossing's Villager, Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the skeletal Dry Bowser, four vehicles and eight tracks.
"Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent," the site reads. "The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario's Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack."
Those who purchase both DLC packs will receive additional content as well: eight new colors each for Yoshi and Shy Guy. Those who pre-purchase those packs gain access to the new colors immediately.

Curious how much I've used my Wii U since buying it, I checked the activity log last night. 1.5 hours on Mario 3D World and 8 hours on Mario Kart 8. That's it. Hmmm.

I'll check mine later today but I feel like I've spent 100 hours on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, at least 50 hours on MK8 and far too many hours on Mario 3D. Out of the PS4 and Wii U my Wii U gets the most attention, too many good games and not enough time.
