Mario Kart 8 will be released on May 31st, Nintendo revealed today during their first Nintendo Direct event for 2014.

A new trailer accompanying the announcement showcased a horde of racers coming to the Kart series: Bowser's Koopaling minions Iggy, Larry, Lemmy, Ludwig, Morton, Roy and Wendy.

Revealed last year, Mario Kart 8 will incorporate new anti-gravity mechanics to shake up the standard driving formula. Tracks will now include sideways and upside-down parts to further hurt your brain while trying to win that golden cup. You can watch the trailer below to see the new Koopalings in action.
