If PAX Aus taught me anything, it's that people love CCG and competitive card gaming in general. The tabletop gaming area of the event had scores of people playing late into the cold night, boisterous and proud of their decks and management; of their strategies and sportsmanship -- of their passion.

I've always been intimidated by the physical game of Magic: The Gathering, but thankfully it's available in digital form, and this year in its 20th anniversary in the form of Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014. It's a non-confrontational way to learn the complicated game, and grow your skills in context. I took on the newest iteration to see if I could get over my fears and am confident I'll be able to throw down at next year's PAX Aus as a result.
