That will be sold separately or come as part of the Season Pass. With Mafia III's release about a month away, 2K has outlined some of the post-release content that players can expect once they've explored all the ins and outs of New Bordeaux. From free content including weapons, cars, and races through to story-based expansions that include hunting down an evil cult, there will be plenty of reasons to keep coming back.
In terms of freebies there's the weapons, plus new outfits for Lincoln, car customisations, and new races. The races in particular sound pretty cool as you'll be able to earn money. To buy better cars no doubt. More details on how they'll work will be revealed in the future.
But as with any story-driven open world experience, the stuff that expands on that is always welcome. And Mafia III will be getting three separate story-based expansions, with each one leading Lincoln in different and surprising directions.
“Faster, Baby!”
Fast cars, dramatic chases, and stunt driving take center stage as Lincoln joins forces with his former flame, Roxy Laveau, to take down a corrupt Sheriff terrorizing Civil Rights activists on the outskirts of New Bordeaux.
“Sign of the Times”
A string of ritualistic killings has New Bordeaux on the edge of terror. At Father James’ request, Lincoln agrees to hunt down the cult responsible, a quest that will take him from the dark heart of the old bayou to the drug-ridden counterculture of the inner city.
“Stones Unturned”
When a merciless rival resurfaces in New Bordeaux, Lincoln must join forces with CIA agent John Donovan to settle a blood feud that began in the war-torn jungles of Vietnam.
Mafia III is out October 7 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
