Recently we had a chance to chat with MachineGames' Andreas Öjerfors about their debut game as a wholly-owned Bethesda studio -- Wolfenstein: The New Order.
The game was recently delayed into 2014 and it was announced that it would also be releasing on next-gen systems, but still feature no multiplayer. We ask Andreas about the decision to stick to a single-player only offering as well as what it was like to build such a dark and terrifying world with The New Order.
"From the very beginning, we’ve had a very clear vision of what we wanted to do," Andreas told us. "It started out when the directors went over to id Software’s office in Texas, and spent three weeks there. They started out by finding, or agreeing on, what is the core of Wolfenstein? Then they worked (the directors of MachineGames, worked) for three weeks, finding the core of the game mechanics, the story, and the different environments to get to -- because it’s a game where you go all over the world."
