There is no questioning how big eSports is in North America and East Asia, with thousands upon thousands of fans pouring into stadiums across the year to catch a glimpse of their favourite players. That sentiment isn't exactly common in the UK, though it looks to be changing next month when London opens its first eSports arena.

Eurogamer reports that VUE Cinemas will be partnering with Gfinity to make the dream happen, transforming part of the Vue Fulham Broadway multiplex into a 600 person dedicated eSports venue called Gfinity Arena. The venue will be able to accommodate well over 1,000 people through the course of a weekend, and more than 25,000 throughout a season of eSports. A player lounge is also planned for up to 50 gamers, plus Gfinity's own entrances, a ticketing hall, automated ticket machines and of course confectionery stalls.

Set to open in March for the 2015 Gfinity Championships, the arena will play host to Blizzard's Hearthstone, EA's FIFA and of course popular FPS Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. $500,000 has already been pledged for the championship, so you'll want to keep your eyes on the usual outlets for the live action.
