Well, chalk this one to a pleasant surprise, as Life is Strange developer Dontnod confirmed the existence of a sequel but said that we won't be seeing it at E3. Instead we got a glimpse at a new Life is Strange prequel series called Before the Storm. The old switcheroo!

Visually it looks identical to the stylish Life is Strange, the Telltale-like adventure game that told an intimate and sci-fi laden story set in a high-school. Seriously, if you haven't check it out by now you should definitely make it a priority.

As for the three-part Life is Strange: Before the Storm, we're happy to look at events and relationships from before the game -- but prequels in general are sometimes hard to get excited about. Mainly because the element of surprise feels absent going in.

But, then again it's even more Life is Strange. And probably points to a lot big things coming in the actual sequel.
