With a release date planned for 2018, alongside the sequel to Jurassic World, Jurassic World Evolution will put players in charge of creating and managing their very own Jurassic World. Yeah, that's how it's being described. It's okay though, we're also telling ourselves that its a Jurassic Park simulator. Coming from Planet Coaster developer Frontier, this also has a very good chance of turning out to be, well, very good.
Here's the announcement trailer, which is all CG dinosaurs and park rides. Jurassic World style.
“As long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series we’re thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World,” said Frontier’s Chief Creative Officer, Jonny Watts. “We’re excited to bring over fifteen years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us.”
In addition to building the park, and all the sights ans sounds players will also get to breed and bio-engineer new dinosaur breeds. Which sounds interesting. Jurassic World Evolution will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2018.
Oh, and in case you were wondering this isn't the first Jurassic Park theme-park sim. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis from 2003, was a fairly decent attempt.
