Remember L.A. Noire, the open world detective game from Rockstar and Team Bondi? Well, it's back - in portable, high-definition, and VR form. Yeah, L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is also coming for HTC Vive. Set in 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire first came out in 2011 and impressed many with its realistic face capture tech used to digitally reproduce real-world actor's performances.

For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One the game is getting improved visuals with new lighting and higher resolution textures. In addition to running in native 1080p, this re-release will also support 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.

The Nintendo Switch version will take advantage of the console's portability with both touch screen and motion controls for certain sections. And finally, L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive will present seven cases from the game, rebuilt as self-contained VR experiences.

The announcement came with a November 14 release date for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files expected to release on the same day for HTC Vive.

Also be sure to hop into the way back machine and check out our glowing review from 2011.
