A few months after the event, EA and 38 Studios have released some of the promised gameplay footage from the PAX East 2011 presentation where they showed their new action RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning to the world for the first time.

Today's clip offers five minutes of gameplay footage, narrated by Lead Designer Ian Frazier and although it's only a small section of the demo that was shown at PAX, it does offer the best look at the game of any of the released media so far.

In particular, the video illustrates how much more attention the team are paying to character animations in the game. Where most Action-style RPG games will just have you wildly swinging a sword at your foes ad-infinitum, you'll see in the video that Reckoning has a much more kinetic and dynamic way of presenting combat interactions.

Watch the new video below or click here for the HD option.

For complete impressions based on our viewing of the full 30 minute demo presentation last month, check out our first-look preview.

You can definitely see the focus that Todd Mcfarlane brings to the art direction. The animations all look fluid and I have to say this is a game I'm very muchly looking forward to!

Looks very nice. But it has from day one. Just hoping it translates well to PC as that looked a little consoley (yes I know it WAS on a 360)

Hmmm, combat looked like a dumbed down version of demon souls. Graphically it doesn't look that great, i expect more from todd mcfarlane, The stuff he did for UO was awesome... this is just meh.
