Czech indie studio Warhorse has announced its debut title Kingdom Come: Deliverance, pegged as an open world first person RPG with a realistic and gritty medieval setting and tone, and no fantasy. Warhorse was founded in 2011 by creator of the Mafia games, Dan Vávra with UFO trilogy's Martin Klíma with a team that notably includes developers of Operation Flashpoint and ArmA:
As players traverse expansive, strikingly detailed locales, they'll grapple with a range of period- accurate fighting techniques, horseback combat, open-field sieges, and large-scale battles, all while developing relationships and a reputation that will inform the greater story. Kingdom Come: Deliverance promises no magic, high fantasy or mythical overtones - it draws its inspiration instead from historically authentic characters, themes, and warfare.
We have a teaser trailer below, there's some brief scenes from an early build of the game in this CryEngine 3 showcase, and Kotaku seems to have dug up a couple of screenshots, but there's not a whole lot else on offer just yet.
Warhorse is promising to show off more once it amasses some Facebook likes and Twitter followers ahead of a more substantial reveal in the early new year, with a view to launching the game on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2015.
