Bethesda has revealed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will soon allow you to not only issue some 200 voice commands using Kinect for Xbox 360, but also voice your own dragon shouts.
In addition to Dragon Shouts, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers voice commands throughout the game including Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.
According to the Bethesda Blog, voice command support for Kinect will be available for free via a title update coming some time this month, and the full list of commands will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Further, the post also reminds players to keep an eye out for new information on the first round of game add-ons for Skyrim that will "add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim", however, in a move sure to annoy anyone not playing the game on Xbox 360, this content will be exclsuive to Microsoft's console. Whether it's a timed exclusive or not was not revealed, but we'll do some digging and find out for you.
lol, i watched a review of ME3 on good game where you can use voice to select dialogue choices in conversation and Bajo was saying how the game would pick up on him saying 'hmmmm what option should i pick' (or similar) and would connect that somehow to a dialogue choice. He said it f***ed up a few key dialogue moments.
So thats another thing to mark off the list of stuff they showed in that sizzle reel a few months back, though there was plenty of stuff in that reel I would preferred to see get fully implemented before Kinect voice commands :(
