Microsoft are a little chuffed to have been awarded the Technical Innovation award at the Develop Awards recently, with a panel of 100 game development executives rating it the coolest thing in the market amongst some heavy hitters:
Kinect beat out a category bustling with recent hardware and software innovations: Havok Mobile, UE3 on mobiles, Razor for PS Vita, plus Sony's PlayStation Move motion controller.

Microsoft was clearly chuffed with the win - the team that collected the award described a Develop Award win as 'the Nobel prize of games'.
With the recent release of the Windows SDK, I'm sure people are hoping to see some other cool things come out of it outside the realm of console gaming.
