Watching the new video for the Resident Evil offshoot Umbrella Corps may leave you wondering why the zombies seem to be little more than set decoration. Well, in this team-based shooter, players can equip these things called Zombie Jammers. Devices that effectively turn zombies into little more than slowly moving obstacles. But, if these Zombie Jammers get destroyed or damaged by incoming fire, then it's hello slightly faster and more bite-happy obstacles.

In the commentary-style voice-over for the trailer, it's clear that the goal for Umbrella Corps is to appeal to the eSports team shooter crowd. And with the cover mechanics and quickfire action Umbrella Corps looks to be as far removed from Resident Evil as you can get. The video showcases a mode called 'One Life' where two teams of three face off against each other with a strict three minute time limit. Check it out.

The game is set for release early 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4.
