FIFA 14 was unleashed on a very expecting public last week and like Mr Joab "Gob" Gilroy who took on review duties for us, it's very much being run through its paces.

Joaby is no stranger to the game though, and I've personally seen him decimate top players in glorious Gob fashion, casting all manner of dispersions their way like some sort of immovable, standing football riot (sans fires, molotovs and the Liverpool smile). He was the perfect candidate for today's review and gives the game a serious going over like it's not seen here before. If you enjoy your football, this is definitely a must-read before you purchase.

I've been playing Fifa 14 on the Android, love it.

Nice review, Joab. Many FIFA reviewers seem unwilling to score a solid game anything below an 8.

BTW, I'm still content playing FIFA 12....

Just got it today. I buy this game religiously each year but now I have to share time with GTA 5. #firstworldproblems

Got it on PC with the 360 controller. Looks and feels identical to both FIFA 12 and 13. I don't really give a s*** about the built in trading card game nonsense, just wish they'd do away with it and add some more functionality to the online multiplayer (its nearly impossible to find a fellow Aussie to verse). Otherwise I can't really complain, its fun to play.

Good review +1

Sounds cool, but is there going to be a FIFA 14 World Cup edition as well that is superior to this in any way? (i.e., should people wait for that?)

Hey Trog, if you're gonna wait for anything it would be the Next Gen version. If there is a World Cup version it won't come out until deep into next year and it will probably be functionally very similar to this game.

The PC version is for all intents and purposes the current gen version (so the one we played for the review) with the benefit of better graphics options and what not, so the next gen FIFA 14 will be a large improvement on that (except you can't spread the Xbox One game over 3 screens).
