Priced at $499 USD or $649 AUD. The console, previously known as Project Scorpio, was formally announced earlier this morning at Microsoft's E3 briefing. The console, which has been described as being the best place to play Xbox One games as well as the most powerful console ever made -- is definitely impressive. In both performance and look.
Here's the reveal trailer which outside of some cool music and epic visualisations only reveals the look of the console itself. A console that one of the engineers at Microsoft went on to confirm as the smallest Xbox ever created too. Yeah, even smaller than the Xbox One S.
Not only that but the Xbox One X features specialised liquid cooling. Something usually relegated to the most gaming of PCs. Under the hood the console is capable of producing native 4K visuals, with grunt comparable to a PC tower several magnitudes larger, including running Forza Motorsport 7 in 4K at 60fps. Pretty impressive.
Xbox One X was definitely Microsoft's go to platform for its E3 briefing this year, with just about all titles presented alongside a 'Xbox One X Enhanced' label. And even though it may look and sound like a new console, Microsoft is still very much pushing the Xbox brand as a family of devices which now includes Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and Windows 10 PCs.
