Formerly known as Beam. And yes, you can probably think of it as the company's answer to the industry's leading streaming platform Twitch. With that in mind the first thing you'd want to know is what separates Mixer from other streaming platforms. And the answer to that is 'real-time' streaming, with Microsoft proudly proclaiming that "Mixer is livestreaming that’s actually LIVE, compared to the 10 – 20 second latency you typically get on other platforms."

Here's a video presentation that goes through what Mixer is all about.

Thanks to it being live, Mixer also takes this feature and introduces what it calls Co-Streaming where multiple people can share their point of view for a single game. Think something along the lines of a Destiny-style raid, but getting to see everyone's screen.

In addition to the obvious baked in integration to Xbox across the Xbox One and Windows 10, Mixer is also available via a Beta for Mobile Devices (iOS and Android). For more info head to the release page.
