The dedicated indie crew of Denmark's Zero Point Software refuse to give up on their labour of love, the hopeful sci-fi shooter that has been self-funding and crowd-funding long before it was cool. The project is eight years old in fact, and the core team has even had playable prototype builds of the game publicly playable for some time, but were never able to broker a publishing deal, so it's Kickstarter time.
Interstellar Marines: Prologue is a sci-fi FPS that offers a unique blend of tactical co-op, progressive role-playing, and nonlinear gameplay, featuring the intense backstory leading up to First Contact – the first game in our ambitious trilogy.
A quirky pitch video stresses that Zero Point are not trying to make a sci-fi Call of Duty title, instead citing games such as Half-Life, System Shock 2, and Raven Shield as the game's inspiration, and heavily promoting the concepts of tactical co-op, RPG progression, weapon customisation, and believable AI as key features.

Watch the pitch video below, and head over to the Kickstarter page for the full spread, including the game's free-to-play prototypes powered by the Unity web player.

now with 29 days left on the clock, the project has raised US$40,000 of its ambitious US$600,000 goal from almost 1500 backers.

This is such a shame, it really seems these guys know what they're doing when it comes to their game and I have no doubt that it would be a good game, I have a 6th sense about these things. Seriously though, I can see the potential of this game and it's sad that it may never come into being :(
