Developer Sucker Punch has today announced that the long-awaited time of day patch will be making its way to gamers later today. The update will allow PlayStation 4 users to disable the HUD, and adjust the time of day once the game has been completed.
In addition to changing the time of day, the patch includes an option to cap the game at 30 frame per second. The cap is just that, a cap that will not eliminate the rare instance of a dropped frame during gameplay says Sucker Punch co-founder and producer Brian Fleming on the PlayStation Blog. Photo Mode will also be included in the patch, which enables player to enable photo mode within the game options. To use it, click L3 to pause the game, and a suite of internal tools like setting depth of field will be available to take screencaps. Check out the video below for a brief overview.
Other features include a handful of localisation changes to text, crash fixes, the game will now pause if your controller runs out of juice and if you are choosing expert difficulty the option dialog will let you know if you qualify for the "Unstoppable" trophy.
"Final full disclosures and fine print: these options and settings, including frame rate, will reset to defaults each time you restart the game. We chose to not disturb our game save file format with this patch in order get these features to you as quickly as we could," says Fleming.
"Additionally, Photo Mode will only work in situations where the camera is freely movable by players. In scripted sequences/cutscenes you can still take screenshots of course, just not with the Photo Mode tools."
