The line-up of free games coming the baseline PlayStation Plus Essential tier for August 2022 includes Yakuza: Like A Dragon. A seriously brilliant RPG that if you haven't played, well, now's the time. The hits don't stop there though, as that's joined by the sk8ter b0i action of Tony Hawk and the unnerving platforming terror that is Little Nightmares.
In a move that is very cool to see, Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 is getting native 1440p support - which is currently being tested right now as part of a system software beta. Even though 1440p is mostly associated with the PC space, sitting in-between 1080p and 4K as a sort of sweet-spot resolution, this will open up native PS5 support to a wider range of displays.

An announcement from developer Fatshark over on social media has confirmed that the upcoming release of co-op multiplayer action game Warhammer 40K: Darktide has been delayed. Daedalic Entertainment has taken to Twitter to announce that its long-in-development stealth-action game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed and won't be hitting its planned September release date. The September 1 date was only revealed a few months ago, with the developer noting that the release has been pushed back "by a few months" so it can "deliver the best possible experience".
