Savage 2 is a worthy purchase for anyone looking for something extra or different in an online shooter. The steep learning curve is a bit of a hindrance but rewarding once you get everything down. The game has features you'd expect from a big budget title, with the community spirit and developer support usually only found in the modding scene.

The boundaries of development for the Wii are still a ways off. Metroid Prime has definitely shown us how the FPS genre should work on the system, while Super Mario Galaxy has fused traditional platform controls with a mouse-like interface and usage for the Wii Remote. Other games have tried to utilise Nintendo’s unique set-up, but no one has really come as close as The Big N themselves in exploiting their machine. Well, that is until Capcom decided to have a crack at things....

And along came Touchstone Pictures who were looking to break into the lucrative videogame industry and thusly bought the Turok namesake, seemingly rescuing one of console gaming’s great first-person shooter series’. "Seeminlgy"...

Devil May Cry 4 Review (Score: 7.2/10)

Review by Steve Farrelly @ 20th February, 2008
The latter statement is the truest though. Devil May Cry 4 looks identical to its predecessors (barring the updated visuals thanks to the power of the PS3 and Xbox 360), but actually goes above and beyond to open the series up. This is the fourth instalment after all, Capcom need to ensure its not simply landing in the laps of the truly hardcore. That’s why DMC 4 offers some seriously mainstream options and an all-new protagonist; if you’re new to the series, well, so is the game’s main character...

Four disks mean you’ll be at it for a while, and if this is completely your type of game, we’ll likely not hear from you for months, however, if you’re just getting into the Eastern RPG realm, its scope and length might prove something of a deep-end. One thing’s for sure, this is a game you can’t simply hire for the weekend. If you’re willing to take the jump though, there’s a lot here to really like.

While the core game is the same, the Wii version has been handled by Nintendo hardware know-it-alls Kuju Entertainment, and despite being of the retro kind, this iteration is actually pretty darn, well… pretty. There are particle effects, lighting and physics all being handled stunningly well, and while the game is essentially a 2D shooter there are touches of 3D animation and movement trickled throughout...

Burnout Paradise is the most fun I've had in an arcade racing game since multiplayer Daytona USA in the arcades. There are just so many challenges and so much content to keep you busy before you even step through that invisible door to multiplayer.

A unique title that throws you into the ocean's depths to look at hundreds of different marine animals. Very little 'gameplay' marrs an otherwise interesting idea alongside a lack of HD for the stunning underwater life...

Confusion can be problematic in the grand scheme of understanding things. Take the Resident Evil franchise for example; there are officially five chapters to the series’ main plot, with a sixth on the way (Resident Evil 5), but amidst these six chapters, Capcom have riddled the series with spin-offs, updates and secrets so convoluted, if you haven’t been with the franchise from day one, you’re bound to be completely lost in all things Umbrella, T-Virus, Wesker and Zombies...

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is the first massive step in the right direction for exclusive content for the PS3. It is both visually and aurally stunning while the story and characters should keep you glued until the very end. It is unfortunately marred by unbalanced gameplay, repetitive and predictable AI and simple puzzles. These gameplay issues aside, it stands as a great leap forward in the marriage between film and games...

Lair has all the elements to be a descent game and does everything it can wrong to be one of the worst games around. Terrible visuals, a choppy engine, an unoriginal story and soundtrack and bland, mechanical controls and animations go a long way to making this a game best not talked about, let alone played...

While there's undoubtedly room for improvement in many facets of Mass Effect's gameplay, the storytelling element completely overwhelms them. In this reviewer's opinion, this is a game that rivals film and novel in its ability to tell a tale. Hands down the best Role Playing Game available on console today.
