Fracture applies terrain deformation as its main draw in a future where the United States has become divided into two warring factions. Unfortunately a laughable plot, bad design, an uninspiring multiplayer mode and the worst charcter name this side of Jospeh Turok leave very little to be desired here...

EA and DICE have done a commendable job of compacting the best parts of the popular Battlefield series and bundling it with an entertaining narrative. Battlefield Bad Company is a much more attractive console game than any straight-up port of a PC Battlefield title could be; A worthwhile purchase for any first person shooter fan looking for a bit of light-hearted fast-paced explosive action.

For those holding out for that one must have PlayStation 3 exclusive title to justify the shiny machine's unfaltering price, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots may or may not be the answer. Square-Enix retool the Japanese RPG blueprint here with an action/RPG hybris riddled with Japanese pop music that may or may not be the death of you. Looking past a questionable soundtrack reveals an interesting game that works pretty well on the DS with a funky art-style and great story...
