And that's shooter in the top-down bullet-hell shoot-em-up sense of the word. Originally released way back in 2001 for the arcades, Treasure's Ikaruga became an instant cult classic due to its mechanics that let you switch polarity and colour to absorb and dish out damage. After a few notable console releases, it looks like it's now headed to the Nintendo Switch.



The port comes from publisher Nicalis and as per the trailer above looks entirely faithful to the original arcade release. Where on the Switch you'll even be able to rotate the console and play using the full screen in a vertical position. Very cool. The Switch version of Ikaruga will feature all of the modes and difficulties including local co-op and is set to hit the Switch eShop on May 29.
