At the recent Future Games Show we were given a decent look at heaps of exciting Indie projects in the works, but one slipped through the cracks as we had nothing come through via regular, official channels, but having since discovered it almost by accident, we can't help now but make you aware of it, even though you might never play it because it looks too damn scary.

Introducing ILL, the horror FPS from part-time-almost-full-time developer Team CLOUT.

Above is a video collating all currently-released video content for ILL (via Punish), and the game made its gameplay debut at the event mentioned above. It looks so good running on Unreal Engine 5, and you can see a PlayStation controller button prompt, highlighting that this is all real-time and not canned, but there are some out there suggesting the project might not even be real, though similar statements were being made about Mundfish and its Atomic Heart shooter, which we all now know is very real.

According to the developer, who does things a bit differently through a Patreon fan subs setup, a recent procurement of investment has allowed Team CLOUT to work on the game full time, with new offices and an expanded team currently in the processes of happening. The studio has also said we'll get a clearer picture of its development schedule in the near future but that 2023 is the likely release date for ILL.

We'll be keeping an eye on this one as it's just super-creepy, super-polished and super-tantalising as a horror concept that is part Dead Space, part Resident Evil 7, all terror.
