It's been a rather long wait since we first heard about Ubisoft's I Am Alive, and although the full story has never been told, it's clear that the game has undergone some large transformations since its 2008 conception. Originally presented as a major title in their upcoming catalogue, Ubi has scaled ambitions back with the game now targeted at the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network platforms following completion at Ubisoft's Shanghai studio.
I Am Alive follows an everyman’s journey to find his wife and daughter, who were lost during the “Event.” A year later, he finds Haventon, his hometown, in shambles. Buildings are destroyed, toxic ash fills the streets and society has been torn, causing inhabitants to take all necessary actions to survive.
I Am Alive launched on the Australian Xbox Live Arcade this week (with the PS3 offering still promised shortly, but not dated) for the budget price of 1200 Microsoft Points (approx $20).

Nathan "Nachosjustice" Lawrence has put this one through its paces for us today and you can find out his thoughts in this AusGamers review.

Sounds like a fair review to me. I'm playing it on Survivor and the timing of save points becomes an issue if you want to walk away from the game to come back another day.

The sound REALLY sticks out early on when you meet a certain little girl and the audio is positioned completely differently to the character model.

The melee system geared around killing the "tough guy" isn't obvious enough.

With some polish it could have been a considerably more enjoyable experience. Still I plan to finish it and don't feel hard done by for the cost.

Saw this reviewed on Good Game and it looked alright. Ive had some fun with limited ammo shooters in the past (metro 2033, stalker, resident evil etc) and being limited to only a few rounds really ups the intensity as you need to make every shot count.
